10 years on from the conception of Outtallectuals and evolution into an international label, we’re delighted to still be here, finetuning our vision & signature sound in an eternal creative soup. ‘Liminal Lore’ celebrates OUTTA’s first decade through a predictably collaborative roster, featuring the label regulars and new contributors.

The concept of ‘Lore’ is sonified in the ‘old world’ influences of the album; through the sounds of nature, bulbul tarang, banjo, g clarinet, darbuka, hang drum, dulcimer, sarangi, slide guitars, violins, flutes, leaves, stones, brushes, hymnal singing & tribal percussions. ‘Liminality’ is, of course, through the celebration of a shifting decade, an in-between milestone for the label.

Outtallectuals Biography

Outtallectuals [a.k.a. OUTTA] is a music label, established in 2011 & now comprised of 110+ international artists from across the planet. With 50+ releases, the label specialises in an ethos of embodying the avant-garde through future-thinking electronic music, while preserving culture through a focus on heritage and ‘glocal’ empowerment. 2011 – A small Facebook Outtallectuals community is born on February 24th and turned into a label on 11.11.11
